Haegue Yang
Haegue Yang (*1971 in Seoul, lives in Berlin and Seoul) is known for her large-scale installations, which often consist of everyday materials and create poetic situations through particular arrangements. She works with a wide range of media – from collage to performance – using systems of order removed from their functional context. Her practice features elements of institutional critique as well as conceptual and poetic-sensual aspects, and her versatility defies clear categorization. Since 2017, Yang has taught at the Städelschule in Frankfurt/Main / Germany.
