Hartmut Bitomsky
The acclaimed filmmaker Hartmut Bitomsky (*1942 in Bremen / Germany, lives in Berlin) treats his film subjects as symptoms of their time, examining them from various social and political perspectives. In what are often elaborate montages, he creates essayistic film compositions that appear minimalistic, poetic, or objective, depending on the subject. In such works, specially composed soundscapes and off-camera commentary add a further perspective.
