Yael Bartana (*1970 in Kfar Yehezkel / Israel, lives in Tel Aviv / Israel and Berlin) is a multimedia artist whose work addresses the complex issues of home, migration, and belonging. She investigates everyday rituals and public ceremonies that shape and affirm the collective identity of a country. In this process, Bartana’s videos combine documentary aspects with a sense of poetic alienation.
