Andreas Troeger

From the countless images of the attack on the World Trade Center, in 911 Troeger creates a “disaster music video” that begins with everyday scenes from Lower Manhattan and views of the undamaged towers, ultimately turning into an apocalyptic scenario that also affects the images as such. The clarity of the documentary shots is contrasted by Troeger—who also worked with Nam June Paik and Paul Garrin—with images of chaos that were further amplified by interventions in postproduction.
