Anna Heine

der tote darf nicht sterben

In der tote darf nicht sterben, the media artist Heine combines classical motifs from the theory of photography with the personal memory of a woman who in the comments is only referred to as “she.” The woman is shown looking at pictures of a man who died in the 1950s in a traffic accident; she is now digging up his life because his grave is about to be abandoned. The ambivalent relationship that photographs produce takes on concrete form in Heine’s video.
