Max Leon Kahane (1910–2004) was a German journalist. In the interview, the communist and resistance fighter speaks about his internment and escape—first in 1939 as communist, later as dangerous foreigner and in 1940 as Jew—from various camps (Gurs and Le Vernet, et al.) in France. For the German newspaper
Neues Deutschland (former GDR), he reported on the Eichmann trial in Jerusalem. The artist Leon Kahane is his grandson.
