Trevor Paglen (* 1974 in Maryland / USA, lives in Berlin) is known for investigating the invisible through the visible, and much of his work deals with the contemporary American surveillance state and the relationship between public and private information. He works with a broad interdisciplinary approach that combines moving image, photography, and sculpture with investigative journalism and engineering. His artistic work and research also focus on critically questioning AI algorithms that are trained through highly simplistic imagery and discriminatory attributions.
