Karin Sander
In her conceptual artistic work, Karin Sander (*1957 in Bensberg / Germany, lives in Berlin and Zurich / Switzerland) questions existing situations and spaces in relation to their structural, social, and historical contexts, using various media to make them visible and tangible in new ways. In her work, she breaks down methodologies of conceptual art and expands them with process-based, and participatory approaches. From 1999 to 2007, Sander was professor at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee and since 2007, she holds a professorship of Art and Architecture at ETH Zürich. In 2023 she will represent Switzerland at the Architecture Biennale in Venice together with the art and architecture historian Philip Ursprung.
