Die Liebe

Painting as event: Heinisch conceives of her work under this overarching category, and Die Liebe represents a very early document of her oeuvre. Before a panorama screen accompanied by the sound of percussive music, gradually an expressive image emerges; a nude woman interacts with the image as a silhouette from the rear of the screen. The performance ends with a double gesture: the disappearance of the artist in the work corresponds to the shadow becoming flesh in the work.
