This film, which emerged as a collaboration between the important pop art artist and James Scott, begins with the statement: “I don’t like artist films.” Using images of his own works, (for example Interior II, 1964), television reports (for example on the trial against Mick Jagger and Robert Fraser), and film fragments, (for example Shockproof, 1949), Hamilton discusses in some detail the relationship between painting and the modern mass media, providing insight into his work in words and images.
