Assaf Etiel works mainly with found footage. Using the techniques of the loop and scratching, he manipulates mass media material and thus displaces its meaning. For Sodom and Gomora he isolates a sequence from the US-American film Showgirls (1995) by Paul Verhoeven. A violent act of revenge that the main figure carries out against a man is amplified to an extreme by changing the image speed and minimal repetitions on the visual and sound level.
